Two Injured After Mototaxi Crashes Into Parked Truck Outside Playa del Carmen Hospital

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Two people sustained injuries on Saturday morning when a mototaxi crashed into the rear of a parked truck outside Playa del Carmen General Hospital, prompting a response from emergency services and traffic authorities.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Avenida Constituyentes and Calle 145. According to the driver, the light transport vehicle was traveling along the road when he attempted to swerve to avoid another vehicle. During the maneuver, he lost control and struck the stationary truck.

The mototaxi operator and his passenger, who are reportedly related, were thrown onto the pavement, suffering various injuries. The incident alarmed bystanders near the hospital.

Paramedics arrived at the scene to provide pre-hospital care to the injured individuals. They assessed the victims on-site to determine the severity of their injuries and decide whether hospital transport was necessary.

Emergency units stabilized the injured and secured the area while conducting their operations.

Municipal Transit officers responded to document the incident, conduct an investigation, determine liability, and coordinate the removal of the involved vehicles to restore normal traffic flow.

The crash temporarily disrupted traffic along Avenida Constituyentes while authorities handled the scene and ensured medical attention for the injured. No further information about the victims’ condition has been released.
