Chetumal, Quintana Roo — Prosecutors in Quintana Roo have formally charged twelve people with drug trafficking offenses following arrests in two municipalities across the state.

The Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office announced that judges approved the charges after determining the arrests were lawful. Most of the defendants will remain in custody while their cases proceed through the legal system.

In Othón P. Blanco municipality, José Rodolfo “N” faces charges of possessing marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine with intent to supply. A judge ordered him held in preventive detention. Three other suspects in the same municipality—José Manuel “N”, Jonathan Abdair “N”, and Perla del Rocío “N”—also face drug possession charges and will remain in custody.

In the state capital, four more individuals—Gerardo “N”, Héctor Alonso “N”, Celso “N”, and Inocente “N”—were charged with possessing various narcotics. The court ordered them to remain in custody throughout their legal proceedings.

In Benito Juárez municipality, which includes Cancún, Eduardo “N” was charged with simple possession of cannabis and cocaine after a judge downgraded the initial supply charge. He received six months of preventive detention.

Three additional suspects in Benito Juárez—Álvaro “N”, Alan Jael “N”, and Allan “N”—face charges ranging from possession with intent to supply to simple drug possession.

Prosecutors stated these cases represent ongoing efforts to combat drug distribution networks in the state. Investigations continue as authorities work to determine legal responsibilities in these trafficking cases.
