Tulum, Quintana Roo — The Caribbean resort destination of Tulum will host a NASCAR Mexico Series race in April 2026, featuring local driver Santiago Cruz, officials announced this week.
The event, called the Nations Tulum 100, is scheduled for April 25-26, 2026. Cruz, a young Mexican driver from Quintana Roo, was formally presented as a competitor at an event on March 11 at the Bahía Príncipe Country Club.
Business leaders, special guests, and media representatives attended the presentation, where Cruz discussed his career, preparation, and the excitement of competing in his home region during a major national championship event.
“Having a driver from this region compete at this level is an opportunity to strengthen local pride and put Quintana Roo on the national motorsports map,” event organizers said.
Motorsport is considered one of the most complete and spectacular sports disciplines, combining technology, strategy, teamwork, and high performance. NASCAR events have become platforms that drive the development of new talent and generate media and economic impact for host destinations.
The arrival of the NASCAR Mexico Series to Tulum is part of a strategy to establish the destination as a venue that integrates sports, tourism, and international projection, while creating experiences that promote the Mexican Caribbean.
During the presentation, organizers also highlighted the importance of creating synergies between the sports sector and private initiative, noting that the growth of athletes in high-performance disciplines requires the support of strategic partners to propel new generations.
