18 companies specializing in the sale and distribution of tequila and mezcal are participating in the second Tequila and Mezcal Festival in Tulum. This privately organized event aims to showcase traditional Mexican drinks, encourage cultural activities, and provide a platform for artisans from Mayan communities. Event organizer, Ailed Izamar, highlighted the festival's role in strengthening local culture and boosting tourism. She stated, "These festivals stimulate the economy and connect visitors with Mexican traditions and flavors."

The festival began with an opening ceremony at 2:00 p.m., followed by a pre-Hispanic dance, emphasizing the country's indigenous heritage. Brands such as Pequeña Raíz, Lobo Mexicano, and Huella Suprema conducted master classes, giving attendees insight into the production and quality of tequila and mezcal. The day was filled with live music, featuring DJ Majo Alarcón, Beach Band, and Orangemood, and ended with a bar takeover by The Lost Explorer.

The festival's second day included a rooftop pool party at Hunab, with music from DJ Omar Labastida. More master classes were held, led by brands like Metchi, The Lost Explorer, and Sabor del Sol. Attendees also enjoyed a performance by Cocoson. A fashion show by local designers, including Shade, Bari, Mira, Pink Revolver, and Ataraxia, was one of the day's highlights. The event concluded with a performance by Brockolis and a brand takeover by Pequeña Raíz and Lobo Mexicano.

The Tequila and Mezcal Festival seeks to promote Tulum as a destination that offers more than just beautiful beaches. It encourages the appreciation of Mexican culture, art, and traditions. Besides stimulating the local economy, the event also serves as a platform for artisans and producers to showcase their work to a diverse audience.
