Tulum, Quintana Roo — The Tulum Half Marathon 2025 made history by bringing together 2,500 athletes from Mexico, Canada, the United States, and other countries, breaking a state record and becoming one of the most important competitions in the Mexican Caribbean.
Municipal President Diego Castañón Trejo highlighted that this third edition “exceeded all expectations” by attracting runners of various nationalities to the 3, 5, 10, and 21-kilometer routes, which showcased the best of Tulum in a safe, orderly course full of iconic landscapes.
The mayor personally participated in the 21-kilometer race, where he interacted with athletes who, he stated, share “the energy, discipline, and love for the Mexican Caribbean.” He emphasized that the event promotes health, strengthens family coexistence, and generates tourist flow that directly benefits the local economy.
Runners enjoyed prominent settings such as Jaguar Park, the coastal area, and sea views at sunrise. Additionally, throughout the competition, hydration services, medical assistance, and operational support were provided to ensure a safe experience for all participants.
Castañón Trejo congratulated the winners of each category and recognized the effort of those who completed the challenge. He reiterated that Tulum will continue to promote large-scale events that place the municipality in the eyes of the world and strengthen its sporting vocation.
