Playa del Carmen, Mexico — Residents of the Ejido neighborhood called for authorities' support after the driver of a truck, who failed to stop at a sign, was struck by a car and sent crashing into the wall of a house, causing significant property damage.

The severe accident was recorded at approximately 11:30 in the morning when the driver of a white Renault Kangoo truck was traveling on 6th Street and, upon reaching 110th Avenue, did not stop while heading west.

On 110th Avenue, heading north, the driver of a red Ford Fiesta was traveling and could not brake in time, impacting the truck on its side. The collision sent the truck directly into a wall.

The vehicle caused damage to the property, as the force of the impact knocked down a section of the concrete structure. The property owners came out to protest the incident and called emergency services.

Municipal Transit authorities arrived at the scene and requested a tow truck to remove both vehicles, as each sustained serious damage. The drivers reached an agreement for repairs through their respective insurance companies.
