In a tragic incident in Yucatan, three people lost their lives in a taxi crash in Tulum. The same number of individuals were injured in the accident. The head-on collision occurred on Saturday night at the second kilometer of the state highway between Chemax and Coba.
The taxi involved in the accident was from the Caribbean Sharks Union and was en route from Coba to Chemax. The other vehicle involved was a private car traveling in the opposite direction. It remains unclear which of the two drivers crossed into the opposing lane, leading to the fatal incident.
The drivers of both vehicles, as well as the taxi's co-driver, were among those who tragically lost their lives at the scene. The identities of the deceased have not been released. The three other individuals injured in the accident were passengers in the taxi.
State Police cordoned off the area following the accident to conduct necessary investigations and procedures.
