The Electoral Tribunal of Quintana Roo (Teqroo) has dismissed the accusations made in the Special Sanctioning Procedures PES/137/2024 and PES/140/2024 against the municipal presidents of Benito Juárez and Tulum. The tribunal found no evidence of the reported misconduct after thorough investigations.
The jurisdictional authority determined that the alleged behaviors did not exist. This conclusion was reached after comprehensive investigations by the Electoral Institute of Quintana Roo (Ieqroo) and a detailed analysis of the evidence. The tribunal found no material or legal evidence that would suggest the reported parties violated electoral regulations, as claimed by the PRD and MC.
Both Ana Patricia Peralta and Diego Castañón, who were accused, ran for re-election and successfully retained their positions as municipal presidents of Benito Juárez and Tulum. They were candidates of the coalition formed by Morena, the Ecologist Green Party of Mexico (PVEM), and the Labor Party (PT).
