Five people including a young girl were in injured when their car and a taxi collided on highway 307 near Paamul.

PLAYA DEL CARMEN – Five people were injured, including a young girl in a spectacular traffic accident between a Felipe Carrillo Puerto taxi and a private car, in the section of the federal highway 307, near Paamul. Material damages are estimated to exceed 90 thousand pesos.

At 3:00 pm on Saturday July 17, the 911 emergency line received a report of a severe accident at kilometer 276, involving two vehicles.

One vehicle was identified as a Nissan Tsuru type with the identification number 252 corresponding to the “General Francisco May” Taxi Union. The driver of said vehicle collided with another car, a gray Ford Focus, also driving in the northbound lanes.

Due to the severity of the crash, five people suffered various injuries and were transported to a hospital in Playa del Carmen.

Elements of the National Guard Roads Division arrived at the site to take control of the scene and supervise the removal of the cars to free up the roadway. Due to the crash, a line of cars was backed up several kilometers, stretching to Puerto Aventuras.
