Cancún, QR. — The State Attorney General’s Office reported that elements of the Investigation Police, in coordination with the National Guard and the Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security and Transit, achieved the arrest of seven individuals allegedly related to crimes against health in the modality of drug trafficking, as well as vehicle theft.
According to the official statement, in a first action agents detained Carlos “N”, Enoc “N”, Raúl “N”, Cecilia “N” and Eliut “N”, when they were circulating on Octava Cipreses Street, in Supermanzana 247 of Cancún. During this intervention, the State Attorney General’s Office secured two vehicles, one of them with an active theft report.
In the operation various pieces of evidence were also located, including a rifle-type firearm with a metallic magazine and useful cartridges. Additionally, several bags and accessories were confiscated in which substances with characteristics similar to marijuana, crystal meth and cocaine were found, reported the State Attorney General’s Office.
The authorities indicated that the detainees would be alleged members of a criminal group generating violence in Quintana Roo, dedicated to the sale and distribution of narcotics.
State Attorney General’s Office Conducts Operation in Villas Otoch
In a second operation, conducted on Paseo Cipreses Street, also in Supermanzana 247 of the Villas Otoch subdivision, First Stage, Jairo “N” and Israel “N” were detained for their probable participation in the crime of vehicle theft.
During the inspection, a BMW brand automobile with a theft report was secured, as well as several license plates that would correspond to other units. The State Attorney General’s Office indicated that these pieces of evidence will be integrated into the investigation files.
The seven detainees, along with the secured vehicles and objects, were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The State Attorney General’s Office stated that within the corresponding legal term the legal situation of those involved will be determined.
