In recognition of World Wetlands Day, the local government of Solidaridad conducted educational and awareness initiatives at Punta Esmeralda beach. The Federal Maritime Land Zone (Zofemat) director reported that restoration efforts were undertaken, including the reintroduction of coastal dunes through the planting of crucial organisms to ensure the area's stability.
The significance of mangroves was emphasized, and the preservation of these essential ecosystems was advocated. These actions are in line with the UN's 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goal 15, which aims to protect the coastal environment.
