Morelia, Mexico, January 17, 2026 — Mexican driver Sergio Pérez shared images from his first day behind the wheel of the Cadillac car, an activity that marked the official start of the American team’s project toward its Formula 1 debut in 2026.
“The story begins today for CadillacF1. First laps completed. Proud of this team and grateful to every person for all the hard work. Let’s go!” wrote the Mexican driver on his Instagram account, accompanied by photographs that marked the symbolic start of a project that will debut on the Formula 1 grid in 2026.
The session also featured the presence of Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu, members of the initial driver program, although only the driver from Jalisco (Pérez) was able to take to the track due to technical problems with the other cars.
