Bacalar, Quintana Roo — A road accident recorded on Monday afternoon in the town of Buenavista left at least 11 people injured, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on the road connecting to the northern part of the municipality. Preliminary reports indicate that the collision involved a Urvan van and, apparently, another vehicle. The Urvan ended up off the road, in the brush, carrying most of the injured.
At this time, it is unknown exactly how the accident occurred. Paramedics from the Grem and Rino groups attended to the injured and transported them to municipal hospitals for evaluation and treatment.
Elements of the Municipal Police and the National Guard established a traffic control device in the area to prevent congestion and ensure the safety of drivers traveling on the highway.
