Mérida, Yucatán — More than forty thousand people gathered on Friday night in the Plaza Grande to enjoy a concert by Reik, as part of Mérida Fest 2026, within the framework of the 484th anniversary of the Yucatecan capital.
The emblematic space of the Historic Center was transformed into a stage of pop and romantic ballads with the presentation of the trio originally from Mexicali, Baja California, which chose Mérida as the starting point for its tour this year. From the first chords, the audience responded with sustained applause.
Warm Welcome for Reik at Mérida Fest
During the concert, vocalist Jesús Navarro thanked the welcome and highlighted the energy of the audience.
Songs such as “Ya me enteré,” “Inolvidable,” “Fui,” and “Creo en ti” were sung from beginning to end, in a constant dynamic of interaction between the group and its followers.
In the final stretch of Mérida Fest, the Plaza Grande was illuminated with thousands of mobile phone lights, while the show’s production combined visual effects and high-quality sound, reinforcing the festive atmosphere and closeness with the audience.
The concert concluded amid applause and requests for one more song. Reik closed its presentation with a repertoire of its greatest hits, leaving attendees with the perception of having witnessed one of the most crowded and emotional moments of Mérida Fest.
At the end of the event, Mayor Cecilia Patrón Laviada thanked the citizen participation and emphasized the climate of coexistence that characterizes the city. She highlighted that the festival continues to consolidate itself as a regional cultural reference and called on families to continue participating in the scheduled activities.
