In the municipality of Solidaridad, at least five severe floods have been reported as a result of recent rainfall. The Municipal Departments of Public Services and Civil Protection were quick to respond to these incidents.
Julieta Martín Azueta, the head of the Municipal Public Services Department, stated that five teams were dispatched promptly to clean the sewer systems. This swift action allowed the rainwater to flow freely and prevented further significant flooding.
Martín Azueta also mentioned that these immediate response teams are prepared to address any additional issues if the heavy rains persist. She urged local residents to assist in preventive actions, particularly by refraining from littering the streets.
Darwin Covarrubias Góngora, the Secretary of Civil Protection, Risk Prevention, and Firefighters, confirmed that preventive measures have been implemented to ensure the safety of the public at critical points within the municipality. He also advised residents to take necessary precautions, such as avoiding unnecessary travel, although no further heavy rainfall is currently forecasted.
