New Call for Quintana Roo Food Assistance Program

Food packages being distributed as part of the Comemos Tod@s program in Quintana Roo

Cancún, Quintana Roo — The Secretary of Welfare in Quintana Roo, Pablo Bustamante, announced that a new call for enrollment in the “Comemos Tod@s” program will be issued at the end of January. This initiative is one of the flagship programs of the state government in terms of food assistance.

The official highlighted that the program currently directly benefits 57,000 families in Quintana Roo through the delivery of food packages and economic support. This represents one of the most extensive social assistance actions implemented in the state in recent years.

Pablo Bustamante detailed that each food package includes essential basic basket products for daily nutrition, including two kilograms of rice, two kilograms of beans, and other essential items aimed at ensuring food security for households in vulnerable situations.

In addition to in-kind support, the program complements assistance with electronic cards that receive bimonthly deposits. This allows beneficiary families to purchase additional groceries at authorized stores and adapt to their specific consumption needs.

With the upcoming call, state authorities aim to expand the program’s coverage and reach more Quintana Roo households facing difficulties in accessing adequate nutrition, within a context of persistent economic challenges in several regions of the state.
