Cancún, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has announced the capture of eight individuals for alleged involvement in drug trafficking in the municipality of Benito Juárez. The detainees, identified as Alejandra Anaely “N”, Saúl “N”, and Cristian “N”, are believed to be part of a criminal group responsible for generating violence in Cancún.
Investigative Police officers attached to the State Attorney General’s Office, in coordination with the National Guard and Municipal Police, carried out the arrests in separate operations. The individuals are suspected of committing crimes against health, specifically drug trafficking, and alleged narcotics were seized from them.
In one operation, agents detained four people—three adults and one adolescent—on streets in the Jardines del Sur neighborhood. After a routine inspection, they were found in possession of substances suspected to be illicit drugs.
The captured individuals were identified as Saúl “N”, Alejandra Anaely “N”, Cristian “N”, and an adolescent. Authorities seized green and dry herb with characteristics typical of marijuana, as well as crystalline solid material resembling crystal meth, and two vehicles.
Preliminary investigations link the suspects to a criminal group that generates violence and is dedicated to drug trafficking in Benito Juárez.
In another incident, Josué “N” was caught in the act on streets in Supermanzana 248, handling green and dry herb similar to marijuana, along with a firearm.
In a separate action, Ángel Mario “N” and Griselda Viridiana “N” were detained after being caught exchanging green and dry herb resembling marijuana. The detainees and evidence were secured on streets in the irregular settlement “El Milagro.”
Finally, in Supermanzana 233, César Herbe “N” was arrested with green and dry herb similar to marijuana and a firearm.
Seven of the eight detainees, along with the seized evidence, were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Drug Trafficking, which will determine their legal status within the corresponding legal timeframe. One additional person was placed at the disposal of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Adolescents.
