Madrid, Spain — From the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2026, Quintana Roo strengthened its leadership in world-class sporting events with the announcement of two international competitions that place the Mexican Caribbean at the center of global sports tourism.
Sporting Events Boost Mexican Caribbean at FITUR
Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa confirmed that these competitions will attract thousands of visitors and generate significant economic benefits for the state.
During the official presentation in Madrid, the governor highlighted that the Mexican Caribbean, recognized as the World Capital of Vacations, is consolidating itself as a strategic destination for sporting events, combining infrastructure, connectivity, and high-level tourism experience.
Premier Pádel P2 Tour in Costa Mujeres
The second edition of the P2 Tour Premier Pádel will bring together the top figures of the international circuit, in both women’s and men’s categories, endorsed by the Mexican Paddle Federation.
Dates and venue:
- From March 16 to 22, 2026
- Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo
State authorities and circuit representatives emphasized that this is the most important official tour in the world and one of the sports with the greatest growth in Mexico.
Tulum Championship Golf, New International Showcase
At the Soltour stand, the Tulum Championship was also confirmed, an international golf tournament that will combine sports and cultural promotion.

- April 2026
- Tulum, Riviera Maya
The event will include artistic activities, participation by artisans, and a parallel cultural agenda, strengthening Quintana Roo’s international projection.
Finally, during the presentations, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa was accompanied by Quintana Roo’s Secretary of Tourism, Bernardo Cueto Riestra, and authorities from the Quintana Roo delegation.
