Quintana Roo School Director Removed After Parents Protest Alleged Relationship with Minor

José María Morelos, Quintana Roo — Education officials removed the director of a telesecundaria in the community of Kancabchen after parents protested, alleging he had an inappropriate relationship with a minor student.

Parents demanded the director’s dismissal, claiming he maintained a romantic relationship with the student, which sparked outrage and mobilized the school community to call for intervention from the Quintana Roo Education Department (SEQ).

SEQ liaison Minerva Sánchez confirmed the director’s immediate removal and said the case has been referred to the legal department for investigation. “We acted promptly, and the director is now at the disposal of the competent authorities. The telesecundaria will continue operating normally,” Sánchez stated.

She urged parents to trust the legal process and the work of education officials, emphasizing that everyone is innocent until proven otherwise. Sánchez also encouraged parents to maintain open communication with their children to ensure their well-being inside and outside the school.

Education authorities reiterated they will continue monitoring the case and that any decisions will follow legal procedures, prioritizing student safety and due process.
