Quintana Roo Launches Mobile Health Caravans Across State This Week

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo government has launched a massive deployment of mobile health caravans this week, bringing free specialized medical services to communities across the state.

The “Health for All” program, operated through the state’s Health Department (SESA), aims to guarantee healthcare access, reduce inequalities, and provide high-specialty medical services to vulnerable communities. The caravans will operate from February 23-27 with a preventive, inclusive approach focused on social justice.

Statewide Coverage

The mobile units will provide services starting at 7:00 a.m. each day, with specialized medical teams and trained personnel covering three regions:

  • Northern Zone: Solidaridad (Playa del Carmen)
  • Central Zone: Felipe Carrillo Puerto
  • Southern Zone: Bacalar

Service Locations and Dates

Northern Zone – Solidaridad:

  • Misión Villamar – Domo Villamar I (February 23-26): Serving Cataluña I and II, Tumben Chilam, Marsella I and II, Palmas II, Los Olivos, 28 de Julio, Mundo Hábitat, and La Toscana neighborhoods.
  • Municipal Detention Center (CERESO) (February 27): Services for incarcerated population.

Central Zone – Felipe Carrillo Puerto:

  • X-Pichil (February 23-27): Serving Hobompich, Filomeno Mata, Kampokolché, X-Yatil, Polyuc, Dzulá, Betania, and Chunhuás communities.

Southern Zone – Bacalar:

  • Divorciados (February 23-27): Serving Manuel Ávila Camacho, La Pantera, Vallehermoso, Emiliano Zapata, Nuevo Israel, Margarita Maza de Juárez, and Gustavo Díaz Ordaz communities.

Free Specialized Medical Services

The mobile units feature advanced technology offering services that typically carry high costs in the private sector:

  • Imaging Diagnostics: Mammograms, chest X-rays, pelvic-obstetric ultrasound, and bone density scans
  • Cardiovascular Health: Electrocardiograms
  • Clinical Analysis: Complete laboratory services and pharmacy with immediate prescription fulfillment
  • Specialized Care: Dental, vision, hearing, nutrition, and psychological services
  • Support for violence victims
  • Ambulance transfer for emergencies detected during operations

Requirements for Service

Authorities request that individuals bring:

  • Copy of official identification (INE)
  • Copy of CURP (Unique Population Registry Code)

As part of comprehensive public health strategy, officials noted that a debris removal program will continue in Playa del Carmen’s Ejido Sur neighborhood on February 27-28 from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and prevent diseases like dengue, zika, and chikungunya.
