Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama addressing security concerns during a press conference

Cancún, Quintana Roo — Governor Mara Lezama announced that Quintana Roo continues to operate normally despite recent violent incidents in other parts of Mexico, with over 10,000 security personnel deployed across the state to maintain public safety.

The governor reported that the state’s Security Council remains in permanent session, coordinating a joint operation involving federal, state, and municipal forces strategically positioned throughout Quintana Roo.

Security Operations Continue

Lezama emphasized that schools, hospitals, airports, highways, ports, and government offices are functioning without interruption, allowing educational, economic, and tourism activities to proceed normally across the state.

Key aspects of the security operation include:

  • Permanent presence of security forces from all three levels of government
  • Surveillance in urban areas, highways, and tourist destinations
  • Preventive measures and immediate response capabilities
  • Continuous monitoring from the Security Council

Essential Services Unaffected

Speaking from Cancún, the governor confirmed that essential services and transportation networks—including air, land, and sea routes—continue operating normally, providing certainty for both residents and visitors.

Lezama urged residents to remain calm, obtain information only through official channels, and avoid spreading unverified rumors that could create uncertainty.

“Your safety is our priority, and we will always provide you with timely and accurate information,” the governor stated, adding that the Security Council will continue working permanently to address any situations that may arise.
