Quintana Roo, Mexico — The Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has announced a 500,000 peso reward for information leading to the arrest of Roberto Pérez López, a former bodyguard of ex-governor Carlos Joaquín González. The agency issued an official notice urging the public to come forward with credible details about Pérez López’s whereabouts.

Fugitive with Law Enforcement Background

Pérez López previously served as a municipal police officer in Benito Juárez and later joined the ranks of the State Attorney General’s Investigative Police. His name has now surfaced in an ongoing criminal investigation, though authorities have not disclosed full details of the allegations.

The FGE emphasized that all tips will be handled with "absolute confidentiality" under strict protocols. Citizens with relevant information are urged to contact official channels immediately.

Pérez López’s current location remains unknown as authorities continue their search. The reward underscores the severity of the case, though the FGE has not specified the crimes under investigation.

The announcement follows the recent confirmation of Carlos Joaquín González’s reappointment as Mexico’s ambassador to Canada.

Authorities have not indicated whether Pérez López’s case is connected to his former employer. Investigations remain active alongside the public appeal for assistance.
