Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Playa del Carmen has raised alarms again following the arrest and formal charging of Carlos Anastasio “N”, accused of participating in alleged sexual abuse against a three-year-old child.
The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), through the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Sexual Crimes, confirmed that a Control Judge granted preventive prison while the process advances.
Facts That Originated the Investigation in Playa del Carmen
According to the investigation file, the events occurred between April 10 and 20 of this year, within a residence located in the La Joya subdivision.
According to initial indications, the accused allegedly performed sexual touching while alone with the minor, which caused behavioral changes and emotional effects in the victim.
It was also reported that after the complaint, the FGE activated specialized protocols for the care of children and adolescents, to ensure immediate and appropriate intervention.
Playa del Carmen: Precautionary Measures and Follow-up
During the hearing, the judge ruled that the accused remain in preventive prison at the Municipal Detention Center, a measure that will remain in effect throughout the judicial process.
Finally, the Prosecutor’s Office reiterated its commitment to guarantee justice for victims and to rigorously pursue any crime that violates the integrity and free development of children and adolescents in Quintana Roo.
