Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Municipal President Estefanía Mercado greeted beneficiaries of the "Playa Llena, Corazón Contento" program today as they gathered at the sports dome of the Unidad Deportiva Playa del Carmen in the Ejido neighborhood to receive food support corresponding to the month of October.
In this context, the Mayor highlighted that this is a program funded with 100 percent municipal resources, with the goal of helping 3,000 families with their household economies each month, thereby bringing well-being and prosperity to Playa del Carmen homes.
"This is a strategy to bring social justice to the families of Playa del Carmen who need it most. In this administration, we work to close inequality gaps and to ensure no family is left without food, because when there is food on the table, there is peace in the home," she stated.
October Distribution Reaches Multiple Neighborhoods
The distribution for this month began last week in Villas del Sol, where 558 food parcels were handed out. It continued at the new Municipal Palace with 355 parcels; in the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood with 679; in Guadalupana with 329; and today in the Ejido neighborhood, where approximately 400 food support packages were estimated for distribution.
The caravan from the Secretariat of Social Justice and Citizen Participation will visit the precinct of Puerto Aventuras on Thursday, October 30. It was also announced that in the coming days, deliveries will be made to beneficiaries who were unable to attend the distribution modules on the established dates.
With these actions, which strengthen the efforts of the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, and the Governor Mara Lezama, the government of Municipal President Estefanía Mercado reaffirms its commitment to designing public policies with a human face that generate prosperity.
