Playa del Carmen Hosts Major Boxing Events in November

November promises to be a busy month for boxing in the heart of Solidaridad Municipality. Playa del Carmen is set to host two professional boxing events and the World Boxing Council's (WBC) international green and gold amateur tournament. This presents an excellent opportunity for young talent from Quintana Roo to develop and showcase their skills.

Alberto López Castro, General Director of the Municipal Sports Institute, thanked the promoters for selecting Solidaridad as the venue for these significant events. He emphasized that these events will provide young boxers with a considerable opportunity to enhance their athletic development. He noted that the town's mayor, Estefanía Mercado, had mandated the establishment of partnerships with those who want the best for the people of Solidaridad. These boxing events will once again position Playa del Carmen as a preferred destination for sports tourism.

Sports event promoter and organizer Patricia Fajardo announced that on Saturday, November 2nd, TM Boxing company will host a professional boxing event at the Playa del Carmen polyforum. The competition will feature Quintana Roo boxers, including Alvino “Cobra” Herrera, Paola “Pao” Macía, Eric “Pitbull” Gamboa, Gabriela González, and Daniel Valle. The event will be nationally broadcasted by Channel 6 Multimedios. The event will also include two kickboxing fights and a lineup of amateur matches, providing young boxers with a chance to demonstrate their skills.

Promoter and coach Rolando “Ogro” Fernández announced the organization of the internationally recognized Green and Gold tournament, under the auspices of the WBC's Amateur division. Young boxers from Mexico and neighboring countries are expected to participate, with at least a hundred Solidaridad boxers anticipated to compete. Fernández noted that the president of the world's leading boxing organization, Mauricio Sulaimán, is expected to attend the event, along with other major boxing figures.

On the evening of November 23rd, a professional boxing event will be held as part of the WBC amateur tournament. The event, which will be broadcasted nationally, will promote the beauty of the Solidaridad coast and feature the best of the amateur tournament. It will serve as a platform for Caribbean boxers seeking to make their mark in the sport and secure a place in major international lineups.
