Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The municipal government led by Mayor Estefanía Mercado has called on the local artistic community to showcase their creative work in an exhibition at the Playa del Carmen Art Gallery.
The municipal authority has maintained constant contact with creators, keeping the door open at events organized by the Playa del Carmen Municipal Institute of Culture and Arts (Imcap).
The general director of the organization, Ernesto Santiago Martínez Cuéllar, stated that the invitation is directed at visual and plastic artists, collectives, artisans, and the general public, so that with their talent they can enrich the cultural scene of Playa del Carmen.
With the objective of providing additional information, there will be an in-person advisory and support session at the Art Gallery to obtain the corresponding registration on January 17, from 12:00 to 19:00 hours.
The Imcap will provide the setup, museography, artwork labels, and promotion through the official channels of the city council, in addition to a participation certificate.
Some of the requested requirements include the artist’s portfolio, photos of the works they wish to exhibit, and an email with the corresponding label that is provided. Any questions can be clarified at the email address galeriadearte.solidaridad@gmail.com.
In Playa del Carmen, there were 15 exhibitions in 2025 as part of this support for artistic creation. One of these had “The Mangrove” as its central theme, in which more than 30 local artists participated.
