Rosarito, Baja California — At the 49th edition of Mexico’s Tianguis Turístico, the delegation from Playa del Carmen arrived in Baja California to present a renewed tourism offering, including the relaunch of the City Brand, the debut of the mobile app Let’s Playa, and the promotion of new tourist routes designed to diversify and strengthen the destination’s positioning in national and international markets.
Strengthening Collaboration Between Destinations
The delegation was received by Baja California’s Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Aguiñiga Rodríguez, during a meeting held at his offices. Discussions focused on strategies to enhance collaboration between the two destinations and explore new commercial opportunities, particularly in promoting locally branded products such as Baja California’s wines and Playa del Carmen’s Hecho en Playa goods.
Led by Estefanía Hernández, Municipal Secretary of Tourism, and Antón Bojórquez Mackay, Secretary of Economic Development and Investment Attraction, the Playa del Carmen delegation reaffirmed its commitment to innovative, sustainable, and identity-driven tourism, positioning the city as a benchmark in the Mexican Caribbean.
Showcasing Playa del Carmen’s Diverse Offerings
During the Tianguis, which will take place from April 28 to May 1 at the Baja California Center, Playa del Carmen will feature prominently in the Mexican Caribbean Pavilion alongside other Quintana Roo destinations. Key attractions to be highlighted include new themed tourist guides:
- The Sea and Fishing Route
- The Pet-Friendly Route
- The Cenotes and Caverns Route
- The Art Route
- The Honey and Jungle Route
These routes aim to attract conscious, segmented travelers interested in the destination’s natural, cultural, and gastronomic richness.
Expanding Tourism Partnerships
The municipal team has already confirmed a schedule of meetings with tour operators, travel agencies, event organizers, and tourism wholesalers. These engagements are expected to broaden Playa del Carmen’s profile as a competitive, dynamic, and evolving destination.
Through this participation, the Playa del Carmen municipal government continues to advocate for a tourism model that fosters prosperity, supports local products, and showcases the destination’s identity at Mexico’s premier tourism forums.
