Tulum – PGA Latin American Golf Tour to Finish in Tulum. The tournament will conclude its 2020-2021 season in the Riviera Maya with the Bupa Championship at the Tulum Country Club golf course. After being suspended for nine months due to the pandemic, the event will take place July 22-25 and will mark the end of a campaign that began in March of 2020 in Mazatlan.

The PGA Riviera Maya golf course will host the tournament for the first time in its history. The venue has been in operation for 11 years and includes nine par-3 holes, natural lakes, cenotes and jungle.

Its facilities are also home to the PGA America Golf Academy in Mexico, the first of its kind.

“Hosting a PGA TOUR Latinoamérica tournament is an incredible opportunity, and to be able to have our course as the setting for the final event is very special. We look forward to welcoming the PGA TOUR Latinoamérica, its players, partners and fans to the Riviera Maya soon, taking care of all security measures and protocols in accordance with the corresponding authorities,” said Fernando Padrón, director of golf for PGA Riviera Maya.

The Latin American golf campaign resumed in December, making it the longest in recent years. “In a season that has spanned more than 16 months, the longest in the history of the Tour, it is very encouraging to know that we will culminate in a beautiful and challenging location,” said Todd Rhinehart, executive director of PGA TOUR Latinoamérica.

The executive highlighted the importance of finishing in Mexico and the Riviera Maya. “Finishing in Mexico, it will give a certain symmetry to our season that we started so long ago, also in Mexico,” added Rhinehart.
