Cozumel Family Demands Justice for Minor

Cozumel, Mexico — Relatives of the victim have arrived at the facilities of the State Attorney General's Office in this city to demand justice after learning of the alleged abuse of a six-year-old girl.

The incident became public after the minor informed her father about what happened, leading him to file a formal complaint with the Attorney General's Office, which has initiated the relevant investigations.

According to the testimony of the victim's father, she was at her home with her five-year-old brother, her mother, and a friend of the mother when the events occurred. After the mother went out shopping, the children were left in the care of the subject, who took advantage of her absence to commit the illicit act.

Following the incident, the girl called her father on the phone and told him what had happened. Immediately afterward, the parent notified the authorities and close relatives, who went to the State Attorney General's Office to file the complaint.

Relatives of the father reported that the children had previously suffered mistreatment by the mother, a fact for which they requested the intervention of the DIF (Integral Family Development System) in order to obtain custody. They also said they are worried about the safety of the minors while the investigations are being carried out.

Unofficially, it was said that the authorities have already issued an arrest warrant for the accused. However, due to the nature of the case, there is currently little information available about the progress of the proceedings.
