José María Morelos, Quintana Roo — The “La Primavera” Riding Association in José María Morelos will host the Ninth Federated Horseback Ride on March 21 as part of the Expomor 2026 Spring Fair activities.
Noé Medina, the association’s liaison with the municipal presidency, said the ride will start in the community of La Presumida and head to Rancho San Tomás, passing through Santo Domingo and descending via the bike path to enter the fairgrounds.
This year’s event will feature the National Committee of the Mexican Federation of Horseback Rides, along with delegations from Baja California, Veracruz, Tamaulipas, and representatives from El Salvador.
“This is our ninth federated ride, and we will welcome the national delegation and groups from different states; it’s an event that strengthens the brotherhood among riders,” Medina said.
He noted the association includes 28 affiliated riders, all from the municipality, who coordinate the event’s logistics.
Regarding animal welfare, Medina explained the route will be 90 percent tree-lined, with only the final kilometers on pavement. The ride will also feature hydration stations, certified handlers, and support from the Public Security Department, doctors, and veterinarians.
“The federated ride has regulations, and we follow them; we prioritize suitable routes for the horses and guarantee safety,” he affirmed.
The event will also include the fifth edition of “Caballitos de cartón,” a symbolic ride for children to the main Expomor fairgrounds.
