During a routine council meeting, the decision was made to amend the logo of Playa del Carmen's city council, the Institutional Identity Guide, and the agreement permitting Mayor Estefanía Mercado to sign property loan contracts with decentralized municipal administration agencies.
The twelfth ordinary council session took place in the "Leona Vicario" room of the new Municipal Palace. The commune secretary, Luis Herrera Quiam, clarified that the logo alteration is in line with the decree to rename the municipality from Solidaridad to Playa del Carmen.
However, the approved agreement outlines that the transition will be gradual, affecting office logos, stationery, vehicles, uniforms, official events, and documents signed by the city council, departments, decentralized agencies, and auxiliary public administration.
Regarding the Institutional Identity Guide, changes will be implemented according to the standard renewal procedure.
In the same meeting, the council authorized the mayor, municipal syndic, and senior official to sign free lease contracts related to the property agreement with various decentralized entities of the Municipal Public Administration.
