Emergency personnel in protective gear removing an Africanized bee swarm in Cacao, Quintana Roo

Cacao, Quintana Roo — Emergency responders from the National Emergency Commission (CNE) removed a dangerous swarm of Africanized bees that attacked a person and several dogs in the community of Cacao on Friday.

Authorities from CNE Delegation 36 in the Ribera del Río Hondo area responded to reports of the aggressive bee swarm in a residential zone, where residents expressed concern after seeing both people and pets being affected.

Upon arrival, responders confirmed one person had suffered multiple bee stings, along with several dogs near the swarm. Emergency personnel immediately assessed the injured person and determined they showed no signs of severe allergic reaction, eliminating the need for hospital transport. Medical attention was provided on site.

Equipped with appropriate protective gear, CNE responders then conducted operations to remove and control the swarm, eliminating the danger to the community.

The prompt intervention contained the situation before it could escalate, taking into account the characteristic aggressiveness of Africanized bees.
