Playa del Carmen, MX. – MotoFest 2025 will celebrate its third edition from December 5 to 7, and is expected to generate significant economic spillover for the destination, with the arrival of at least five thousand bikers from Mexico and countries such as Belize and Costa Rica, according to its organizer, David Rojas.

Rojas emphasized that this edition was prepared “with a lot of love, courage, and enthusiasm,” and revealed that the festival will incorporate new experiences to strengthen mototourism, an expanding concept that complements traditional disciplines like motocross.

Among the special activities is the Sacred Helmet Ritual, a Mayan ceremony in which a pilot and their helmet receive a symbolic blessing.

The artistic program includes 15 musical groups, primarily from the local scene, with genres such as rock and SEA.

The festival will also feature exhibitions at Coco Bongo, a mechanical bull, 10 grills, biker merchandise sales, special shows, raffles, and gifts.

Rojas noted that the event is designed for both the biker community and the general public. “It’s for people to come, socialize with us, and learn more about this culture,” he said.

The 2024 edition gathered nearly 2,000 national and international visitors, and this year attendance is projected to double, with at least 4,000 to 5,000 motorcyclists.

In accommodation alone, an economic spillover of over 300,000 pesos per day is estimated, a figure that increases when considering consumption in restaurants, businesses, and entertainment, reinforcing Playa del Carmen’s appeal as a hub for international mototourism. (Agency SIM)
