Cancún, Quintana Roo — Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has confirmed that she will hold her daily morning press conference, known as the Mañanera, in Chetumal, the capital of Quintana Roo, this Friday. The announcement was made during her Mañanera del Pueblo address on Monday.

Schedule and International Engagements

Sheinbaum disclosed that she will arrive in Chetumal on Thursday evening and spend the night before conducting the press conference the following morning. Later on Friday, she will attend a trilateral meeting involving Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala at the invitation of Guatemalan President César Bernardo Arévalo.

The Mexican president also stated that she will request permission from the Mexican Congress this week to travel abroad for the diplomatic engagements.

Bilateral and Trilateral Meetings

On Saturday, Sheinbaum will visit Guatemala City for a brief bilateral meeting with President Arévalo to discuss what she described as the “excellent” relationship between Mexico and Guatemala.

Later that afternoon, she will travel to Calakmul, a municipality in southeastern Campeche located approximately 30 kilometers from the Guatemalan border. There, she will first meet with Belizean Prime Minister Juan Antonio Briceño to review bilateral ties before participating in the trilateral summit with both leaders.

The meetings underscore Mexico’s continued diplomatic engagement with its Central American neighbors.
