2025 PECDA Grants Open for Mexican Artists – Apply Now!

Announcement for the PECDA program in Quintana Roo with registration dates and information

Quintana Roo, Mexico — The Secretary of Culture of the Mexican Government, in collaboration with the Institute of Culture and Arts of Quintana Roo, has announced the launch of the 2025 call for applications for the Program for the Stimulus of Artistic Creation and Development (PECDA). This initiative serves as a fundamental pillar for promoting artistic work in the region, fostering diversity and inclusion within Mexico's cultural landscape.

Open Call for Diverse Disciplines

The application period will remain open from June 4 to July 2, 2025, providing artists and creators from various communities and populations across the country the opportunity to submit their artistic proposals. This year introduces a new category focused on "Support for Artistic Collectives," designed to recognize and strengthen the participation of women in the artistic and cultural sector, in alignment with commemorations of the Year of Indigenous Women.

Interested artists may submit projects across multiple disciplines, including Visual Arts, Popular Arts and Traditions, Dance, Literature, Audiovisual Media, Music, and Theater. PECDA offers financial incentives across four categories: Adolescent Creators (New Talents), Young Creators, Established Creators, and—for the first time—Support for Indigenous Artistic Collectives. This final category is specifically intended for groups of women developing artistic initiatives in vulnerable contexts, aiming to highlight their essential role in the arts and their contributions to cultural enrichment from their communities.

Strengthening Mexico’s Cultural Landscape

With over 36 years of history, the Sistema Creación reaffirms its commitment to recognizing and promoting the ideas and proposals of artists from different generations and disciplines, invigorating Mexico's cultural scene.

Applicants may review the general guidelines for the call starting June 4, 2025, on the website of the Institute of Culture and Arts: https://ica.qroo.gob.mx. For further information and updates, inquiries may be directed to 983-833-6141 or via email at [email protected].
