Tulum, Quintana Roo — A man was shot three times in Tulum on Friday morning, prompting a major police and emergency response in the city center.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Mercurio and Beta streets. According to emergency reports, a caller reported hearing approximately five gunshots and said a family member had been shot in the arm and chest.
Municipal police officers arrived at the scene, confirmed the injured person was present, and cordoned off the area to preserve evidence and ensure security.
Paramedics arrived minutes later and provided pre-hospital care. They confirmed the man had sustained three gunshot wounds to different parts of his body.
Due to the severity of his injuries, paramedics transported him immediately to the IMSS-Bienestar Hospital in Tulum, where he remains under specialized medical care. Authorities have not yet released an official update on his condition.
The area remained under police guard as authorities launched an investigation into the shooting.
