Man killed in Cancún brawl, suspects flee scene

Cancún, Quintana Roo — Early Thursday morning, authorities mobilized to Supermanzana 69 after receiving a report of a brawl. Upon arrival, they found a man dead after being attacked with a bladed weapon.

According to initial reports, the victim — whose identity remains unknown — was socializing with a group of people in a tenement when an argument began that quickly escalated into a physical fight. During the altercation, the man received multiple stab wounds from a knife, injuries that caused his death almost immediately.

Witnesses told police that the alleged attackers, who had been socializing with the victim moments before, managed to escape the scene after the incident.

The area was cordoned off by Municipal Police to preserve the crime scene, while forensic experts from the State Attorney General’s Office carried out processing of the area and removal of the body.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation file to clarify what happened and find those responsible. Agents from the Ministerial Police are already working on the corresponding inquiries to identify and locate the attackers.
