Chetumal, Quintana Roo — Police arrested a man on Tuesday afternoon for violating a restraining order and assaulting his ex-partner and their son in the Jardines neighborhood of the state capital.
The incident occurred on Trébol Avenue, between Flamboyanes and Aarón Merino streets, where State Police officers responded to an emergency call.
According to initial reports, the man arrived at the victim’s home and began physically assaulting her. When the woman’s son intervened to defend his mother, he was also attacked.
State Police officers arrived at the scene and detained the suspect, who was then turned over to the State Prosecutor’s Office.
Firefighters assessed the woman and the minor, who sustained only minor injuries.
The detained man now faces judicial proceedings for violating a restraining order and domestic violence.
