Quintana Roo, Mexico — A major blow to organized crime was dealt in Quintana Roo following a series of operations led by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), which resulted in the arrest of five individuals linked to different criminal groups, two of whom are foreign nationals.
The actions were carried out in Othón P. Blanco, Puerto Morelos, and Felipe Carrillo Puerto, as part of a comprehensive strategy against extortion, drug dealing, and armed violence.
BLOW TO CRIME: EXTORTION IN OTHÓN P. BLANCO
The FGE executed an arrest warrant against Jeiber Edilberto “N”, a Colombian national, and Abraham José “N”, originally from Venezuela, for their alleged involvement in the crime of extortion in Othón P. Blanco.
Investigations indicate that, at the beginning of 2025, both allegedly subjected a victim to a loan scheme with abusive interest rates, accumulating a debt of 76,800 pesos, followed by telephone threats.
Subsequently, they forced the victim to contract a new loan for 46,000 pesos, with high daily payments.
PUERTO MORELOS: WEAPONS AND DRUGS SEIZED
In Puerto Morelos, investigation agents detained Miguel Ángel “N” and Benancio “N” following an armed confrontation that occurred on the federal highway Cancún–Playa del Carmen, near Playa Paraíso.
Seized items:

Both were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for crimes against public health, carrying weapons for the exclusive use of the armed forces, and attempted homicide.

As part of the fight against organized crime, an Interinstitutional Group captured Shadani Lorena “N” in Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
It was also reported that this was a priority target of the State’s Crime Atlas, related to a group generating violence in the community of Chunhuhub.
