Cancún, Quintana Roo — An attempted robbery ended unexpectedly for a suspected criminal after he was subdued by a worker who is also a jiu-jitsu practitioner.
The incident occurred when an individual attempted to commit a robbery at the business where YP, a member of a jiu-jitsu academy, works. Unaware of who he was confronting, the aggressor was neutralized using self-defense techniques that included locks, levers, and lateral control.
Witnesses indicated that the robbery attempt was brief, as the hero, Y, reacted immediately, managing to immobilize the alleged thief on the floor, preventing his escape until authorities arrived.
The incident quickly went viral on social media, where users celebrated the young man’s bravery and preparation, highlighting his sports discipline as a key factor in preventing the robbery from ending in tragedy.
