Isla Mujeres, Mexico — As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the tourism promotion of Isla Mujeres and consolidate its position as a world-class destination, the Municipal Government, led by Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde, participated in the inauguration of the Cancún Travel Mart, one of the most important tourism gatherings in the Mexican Caribbean.
The inaugural ceremony was led by the State Governor, Mara Lezama Espinosa, who cut the ribbon alongside the Mayors Atenea Gómez of Isla Mujeres; Ana Paty Peralta of Benito Juárez; Blanca Merari Tziu of Puerto Morelos; and Estefanía Mercado Ascencio of Playa del Carmen.
The event brings together tour operators, hoteliers, travel agencies, and airlines from various parts of the world, generating significant opportunities for tourism promotion and commercialization for the participating destinations.
The presence of Isla Mujeres at this important forum contributes to reinforcing its leadership as a destination preferred by national and international travelers, as well as to strengthening strategic alliances that drive the municipality's economic and tourism development.
"Isla Mujeres is a tourism reference recognized internationally, and events like this allow us to continue positioning our municipality as a safe, sustainable destination with great natural and cultural wealth," emphasized the Municipal President.
With this participation, the City Council reaffirms its commitment to boosting tourism activity, a fundamental engine of the local economy, through strategies that promote orderly, competitive, and sustainable development.
