Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — In an atmosphere of joy, magic, and color, Municipal President Atenea Gómez Ricalde led the presentation of the Kings and Queens of the Isla Mujeres Carnival 2026, marking the beginning of preparations for this traditional festival that celebrates the identity and culture of Isla Mujeres.
During the presentation, Atenea Gómez stated that this ceremony marked the start of preparations for the 2026 Carnival and emphasized that each activity will encourage citizen participation, promote family coexistence, and reaffirm traditions, while attracting visitors and supporting the local economy.
“We continue working to make the Isla Mujeres Carnival an inclusive and convivial space where our roots are celebrated, our talents are promoted, and development is generated for our people,” highlighted the island mayor.
Continental Zone
For the Continental Zone, the following were presented:
- Senior Kings: Gilberto Samano Zacarías and Bruna del Socorro Vélez Reyna
- Children’s Kings: Roberto Santos Fuentes Rodríguez and Valentina Cervantes Encalada
- Lady of Joy: Gameba Yolanda Penagos Romero
- Carnival Kings: Ernesto Nawitecpatl Delgado and Gabriela Patricia Silva Dzul
Insular Zone
For the Insular Zone, the following were presented:
- Children’s Kings: Jesús Antonio Chable Arroyo and Ivanna Odeth García Arreola
- Senior Kings: Micaela del Carmen Hu Tamayo and Carlos José Robertos Ojeda (first generation); Buenaventura Martínez Magaña and Flor Marina Coral Salazar (second generation)
- Lady of Joy: Marina Citlalli Chim Burgos
- Special King: Marco Antonio Chan Chi
- Youth Kings: Edmundo Nicolás Koh Casillas and Mia Fernanda de Mier Ballote
- Carnival Kings: José Julián de la Fuente Uicab and Cinda Citlalli Hernández Villanueva, who delighted attendees with a dance number
“We are proud of our 2026 Carnival Kings and Queens, who will be ambassadors of island culture and promoters of the joy that characterizes our beautiful island,” indicated the island mayor.
The Isla Mujeres City Council reaffirms its commitment to making the 2026 Carnival a festival of tradition, joy, and unity for all.
