Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — Isla Mujeres continues to solidify its position as a favorite destination for both national and international tourists, maintaining hotel occupancy above 90% following the conclusion of Carnival festivities.

The high occupancy rate reflects visitor confidence and coordinated efforts between the government, tourism sector, and local community to provide a safe, orderly, and quality experience.

The municipal government led by Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde, through the General Directorate of Economic Development and Tourism, highlighted that even after the peak season and major events like Carnival, Isla Mujeres continues to attract significant tourist numbers. Officials attribute this success to the island’s competitive appeal, attractive beaches, clean streets, and tourism offerings that meet visitor expectations.

“The tourism success is the result of a permanent strategy of promotion, service, and improvement,” emphasized Eyder Jahil Hoth Pérez, General Director of Economic Development and Tourism.

The official also noted the daily efforts to maintain clean beaches in optimal condition and reiterated that municipal public services operate at 100% capacity with timely waste collection, efficient public lighting, and constant attention in tourist areas and neighborhoods, all of which strengthen the destination’s image.
