Isla Mujeres Ladies’ Guild Honors Local Tradition

Participants at the Isla Mujeres Ladies Guild celebration in Calipso Salon

Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, December 6, 2025. As part of the Patron Saint Festivities in honor of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception, the Ladies’ Guild was held at Calipso Salon, continuing the celebrations that strengthen the identity and social fabric of island families.

The activity formed part of the traditions that distinguish the municipality as a community of faith, united and proud of its roots.

On this occasion, it was Mrs. Rosario Trejo who was in charge of the celebration, an event enjoyed by island women that began as it does each year with the traditional mass before moving to the social hall.

This moment was one of the most significant of the guild, symbolizing the handover and continuity of a practice that unites generations of island women.

Representing the Municipal Government, the General Director of the System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF) Isla Mujeres, Fabiola Vicencio Jiménez, accompanied the participants and recognized the commitment of women in preserving the traditions that strengthen the union and social fabric of the municipality.

“Each guild represents an opportunity to socialize, reinforce community ties, and transmit values that have given identity to Isla Mujeres over time,” stated the municipal official.

The celebration continued with music, dance, and cultural expressions that recalled the importance of conserving traditions that strengthen the sense of belonging.

During the event, Mrs. Rosario Trejo handed over the baton to Abigail Ancona, reaffirming the continuity of this annual tradition and the shared responsibility of keeping alive the traditions that honor the Magic Town of Isla Mujeres.

The Government of Isla Mujeres reiterates its commitment to supporting these celebrations that honor local faith and culture, promoting family coexistence and the social fabric.
