Health Alert at Cancún Beach Over Human Waste Contamination

Contamination at Playa Langosta beach in Cancún

Cancún, Quintana Roo — Visitors and bathers who went to Playa Langosta during the morning raised alarms after detecting the presence of human waste floating in the sea, a situation that generated concern among those in the area.

According to witness accounts, while swimming they observed unusual materials moving with the wave motion, which led them to approach to identify what it was. Upon examining one of the remains with an improvised object, they confirmed that it corresponded to human excrement, which emitted an intense and unpleasant odor.

The bathers noted that from the early hours of the day, people had been entering the sea without noticing the presence of the contamination, which increased concern about possible health risks.

The discovery caused annoyance among the visitors, who called for enhanced cleaning and surveillance measures to prevent this type of situation from recurring at one of the most frequented beaches in the hotel zone.
