Cancún Tourism Surges: August 2025 Stats

Cancún, Mexico — Tourism in the Mexican Caribbean continues to show encouraging performance, according to hotel occupancy data and air operations corresponding to August 21, 2025. The following details the occupancy rates in Cancún, Puerto Morelos, and the Continental Zone of Isla Mujeres, as well as the operations of the Cancún International Airport.

Hotel Occupancy

In the Cancún Hotel Zone, an occupancy rate of 72.4% was recorded yesterday, bringing the cumulative total for the month to 68.2%. Hotels in this zone received 57,522 visitors, with a hotel supply of 33,433 available rooms.

Cancún Centro reported a daily occupancy rate of 64.8%, while its cumulative occupancy for August stood at 58.7%. In this case, the number of visitors was 9,891, with a room supply of 6,423.

Puerto Morelos, a destination that has been gaining popularity, reached an occupancy rate of 55.4% for the day, with a cumulative rate of 63.6% for the month. The location received 8,878 visitors, with 6,774 rooms available.

Finally, the Continental Zone of Isla Mujeres presented an occupancy rate of 70.4%, with a monthly cumulative rate of 72.9%. This region attracted 16,022 tourists, with 9,971 rooms at its disposal.

Cancún International Airport Operations

Regarding operations at the Cancún International Airport, a total of 431 flights were recorded for the day, broken down into 216 arrivals and 215 departures. Of these flights, 178 were domestic flights (89 arrivals and 89 departures) and 253 were international flights (127 arrivals and 126 departures).

At other airports in the region, the Cozumel Airport operated 20 flights (8 arrivals and 12 departures), the Chetumal Airport had 8 arrivals with no departures, and Tulum recorded 20 flights (8 arrivals and 12 departures).

This information reflects the solid recovery of the tourism sector in the region, which is fundamental to the local economy and the well-being of the community.
