TULUM, Quintana Roo — The municipality of Tulum is preparing for its Independence Day celebrations on September 15, with festivities set to include a free concert by the internationally renowned Banda Cuisillos. Tulum Mayor Diego Castañón announced the performance, confirming the band's participation in the town's official program for the national holiday.
The group, also known as Banda Cuisillos de Arturo Macías, is a Mexican regional music band founded in 1987 by Arturo Macías in the town of Cuisillos, Jalisco. The event is expected to bring together residents and tourists for an evening of music, color, and national pride, transforming the night into a memorable experience.
Municipal authorities are organizing a popular festival, or "verbena popular," which will feature cultural expressions, traditional Mexican snacks, and folklore—elements deemed essential for the most Mexican night of the year.
When and Where Will Banda Cuisillos Perform in Tulum?
The Banda Cuisillos concert will be held on the esplanade of the Tulum Municipal Palace on Monday, September 15. The band is scheduled to perform its greatest hits, including "Mil Heridas," "No Se Lo Digas a Ella," and "Vanidosa," among others.
An invitation shared through social media cites a start time of 7:00 p.m. for those interested in attending the musical presentation. The band Banda La Grandiosa is scheduled to perform on the same stage immediately before Banda Cuisillos takes the stage.
Tulum Inaugurates Patriotic Decorations
In preparation for the patriotic celebrations, the Tulum Government recently inaugurated the lighting of patriotic decorations installed in the town center. The adornments, which now line the streets and the Municipal Palace, are a traditional feature placed during the month of September to mark the national festivities.
The display has been well-received by drivers and citizens, as it honors the commencement of the War of Independence in Mexico.
