Cozumel — The Cozumel Parks and Museums Foundation (FPMC) invites Cozumel families to the traditional Christmas Festival and Community Tree Lighting, which will take place on Thursday, December 4, at 6:00 PM, at the BiblioAvión Gervasio, located on 130th Avenue between 7th and Miguel Hidalgo streets.
This event, now in its sixth edition, has become one of the most anticipated gatherings of the season, bringing together girls, boys, youth, and entire families in a space filled with joy, music, and community spirit, according to FPMC General Director Juanita Alonso Marrufo.
She added that activities will begin at 6:00 PM with the Christmas Festival, which will include the presentation of the traditional cantata, followed by a dance workshop where participants can enjoy a festive and energetic dynamic. Students from the drawing workshop will also participate by building a Christmas village made with materials such as paper and cardboard, which will be placed next to the tree.
The FPMC General Director mentioned that the program will conclude with the most awaited moment of the night: the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree, a symbol of unity, hope, and good wishes for Cozumel, and highlighted that this type of activity strengthens social bonds and reinforces an atmosphere of peace and well-being on the island.
She emphasized that the celebration is part of the New Agreement for Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo, promoted by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa, which promotes community coexistence as a fundamental pillar in building peace and social fabric.
Juanita Alonso stated, “At FPMC, we work to ensure that every space and every activity contributes to uniting families, celebrating our traditions, and strengthening community life,” and reiterated the invitation to the entire community to enjoy an afternoon of Christmas celebration at this event that year after year illuminates the hearts of Cozumel families.
