Tourist Killed in Cancún Bar Over Unpaid Tab

Cancún, Q. Roo — A foreign tourist died after receiving a brutal beating inside a nightclub located in Cancún's hotel zone, in an area known as the "Callejón de los Milagros," following his refusal to pay a second time for a bill that had already been settled.

The primary suspect in the homicide was identified as Danoy "N," 39, also a foreign national, who worked as the head of security for the establishment. According to the Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office, Danoy allegedly ordered the aggression that caused the death of Kered Ronald "N," 37, after he received several blows to the abdomen that caused internal bleeding.

During a Security Cabinet conference, Attorney General Raciel López Salazar detailed that the victim entered the bar accompanied by two men and requested alcoholic beverages and the company of three women. Subsequently, the group moved to a private area of the venue.

Hours later, his companions left, leaving the tourist asleep in one of the rooms. Upon waking up, disoriented, the bar staff demanded he pay the bill again, despite the fact his companions had already covered it.

Kered attempted to pay with five bank cards without success, which prompted the intervention of the security personnel. Following orders from Danoy "N," the tourist was taken to a back area of the establishment where he was violently beaten until he lost consciousness.

Afterward, the head of security ordered that he be returned to a table in the bar, instructing the staff to say that the man had simply fallen asleep after being abandoned by his friends.

Hours later, Kered's lifeless body was found by staff at the location, which led to the mobilization of emergency services. Paramedics confirmed he no longer had vital signs, and he was transported to the Forensic Medical Service to initiate the corresponding repatriation procedures with his family members.

Danoy was detained by agents of the Ministerial Police and presented before a control judge, who ruled his arrest legal and linked him to proceedings for the crime of homicide. As a precautionary measure, he was ordered to remain in preventative custody, justified for a period of up to two years or for the duration of the complementary investigations.

The Attorney General's Office continues with the inquiries to determine if more people from the establishment were involved in the crime.
