Security operations in Quintana Roo municipalities

Quintana Roo, Mexico — In a joint operation conducted in the municipalities of Chetumal, Tulum, and Cancún, authorities captured eight people and seized various narcotics, consolidating efforts in the fight against drug trafficking in Quintana Roo. The operations, coordinated with the Secretariat of National Defense, the Navy, the National Guard, and state and municipal police, aimed to combat crimes related to public health and organized crime.

Operations in Chetumal

In Chetumal, specifically in the branches of the Adolfo López Mateo and Plutarco Elías Calles neighborhoods, two search warrants were executed, leading to the capture of Sammir Izael and Cieli Alondra, along with the confiscation of marijuana, crystal meth, and cocaine, together with video surveillance equipment. Additionally, in Othón P. Blanco, judicial warrants related to illicit activities were carried out at various points in the city.

Operations in Tulum and Benito Juárez

In Tulum, authorities inspected a property on Orión Norte Street where prohibited substances were located. Those detained in this operation were Miguel Ángel, Karina de Rosario, and Michell Armando. In Benito Juárez, in the Urbi Villas del Rey and La Loma neighborhoods, Abiecer, Jorge Carlos, and César Elías were detained, all related to illicit activities and seized items.

These operations reinforce the security strategy in a state experiencing significant tourism and economic growth, and whose stability is key to regional development. The constant presence of federal and state forces seeks to prevent illicit activities from affecting the image and well-being of the population and visitors.
